It is the mission of the Civil Service Commission to administer and preserve the merit system while being responsive to the principles of equal opportunity employment and sound labor-management relations."

On October 3, 2017 the first and only meeting of 2017 was held. Tim McLaughlin, chairperson of the Aspinwall Public Safety Committee presented three (3) changes to the Police Civil Service Rules and Regulations. After much discussion, those changes were tabled.
All future meetings will be conducted using "Robert's Rules of Order" and the order of business as directed in Rules and Regulations, 2.7 Meetings.
The Aspinwall Civil Service Commission was established in 2016 to maintain and enhance the integrity of the employment process and to provide Rules & Regulations for civil service employees.
