A winter storm
the likes of which have rarely been seen in Pittsburgh blanketed Aspinwall with over 40 INCHES inches of snow during the month of February, bringing vehicular traffic and public transit on Freeport Road to a virtual standstill as a state of emergency was declared by Governor Ed throughout Pennsylvania.

 The Dirty Dozen Bike Ride
Pittsburgh has lots of steep hills, especially if you're on a bicycle. Have you ever tried riding up Center Avenue? Center is the first of 13 steep hills cyclist climb in the Pittsburgh Dirty Dozen Ride, this was the 27th Annual. This is a photo of Race organizer Danny Chew (with the whistle) and a racer crossing 9th Street on Center Avenue. Over 200 bikers rode to the top of Guyasuta at Buckingham.
